Post 1 by emily 25 (Account disabled) on Sunday, 10-Mar-2013 15:22:27

so i joined hell moo today and my first impressions of it is that it sounds really good.

i've managed to go through the creation stages, and now i'm in the game itself.

it's very diffrent and i think i'm going to enjoy it

Post 2 by Jack Off Jill (why the hell am I posting in the first place?) on Sunday, 10-Mar-2013 16:57:50

I liked it when I joined, just wish a soundpack was involved. haven't truly played since I got my new hardrive but...

Post 3 by emily 25 (Account disabled) on Sunday, 10-Mar-2013 17:28:57

i think a soundpack would be cool. especially the earthquake.. now that would be cool to see how they did that

Post 4 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Sunday, 10-Mar-2013 20:01:58

All I will say on HellMoo is this, and it's not really a criticism of the game:
If you care to reroll your stats by going back through the basement of the museum again after you've played for awhile, the stats may not improve you like you think they might.
I'd also not be so hasty to resign from Enema Corp as you can get quick contracts and money right away.
Again I spent no more than a few hours and a sixer on it, as I am a rather a infrequent flyer with the muds more of a passing interest when buzzy sometimes.

Post 5 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Monday, 11-Mar-2013 2:29:52

so, i'd advise you make a character to mess around with first. everyone fucks up their first character or 3... But, once you get the hang of things, you'll really start being able to do some good.
this is a game where everything you do with your character could be good, or come to bite you big time down the road, later.
Next up is find a good corp, once you're done screwing around. find some players who have played to end game, assuming they're willing to work with you, and they can get you on the right path.
Hell is all about your connections, what you can do for others, what they can do for you, building up a good strong crew that makes doing the big fun stuff is a lot of work, but rewarding.
You can ask me questions here or via pm, qn or email... when i'm in a position to play again, i'll start helping people out in game as well.

Post 6 by Gong jhoo (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 11-Mar-2013 5:17:00

Lol, yes, I messed up on mine, but not looking to reroll anytime soon, got most things up to 6 raw, but focus, and sneak is hard to grind, lol, and choose your weapon wisely, I like whips, even though that ain't what I picked, clubs is pretty nice too, and spears can hit hard, but you want to make sure you max out reflexes if you want to be in combat alot, and your other main stat, maybe senses if you are clubs, or reflexes and cool if you choose pistols, or rifs, chill is a good corp, they have good money in side the corp, but dunno if that goes for you, tiger is good too, or you can join scav, like I did, lol, but think I got the hang of the stats, and skills now, so next time will choose something other then three weapons as skills, but like killing things, but it is crazy that you have to kill kids and things, would never do that, but it is a pretty sweet game, and would be nice if it was a sound pack.
Just dunno if the sighted people would like it, but that would be pretty nice, and don't post anything to ideas, unless you want to be talked down upon, it seems like noone agrees with anything, so I never post to anything, but I don't give a fuck if they like it or not, just giving yall a heads up.
Another cool thing is you can have battle cries before you fight.
To do this you type @battlecry then your message, then a period on a line by it self, and inter again, at least I think, cleared all mine, so kinda forgot But pm, if any questions, or post to the board, or whatever way is mor comfortable for you.

Post 7 by emily 25 (Account disabled) on Monday, 11-Mar-2013 13:55:45

i think, leo, that's what i did with alter eon. a passing interest.

but hell i'm gonna stick with for a while yet

Post 8 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Monday, 11-Mar-2013 22:51:51

reflexes should be the first thing you gym, no exceptions.
It effects combat, dodge, climbing, fishing, throw, and so much more.
From there, it depends on your character. But don't neglect reflexes unless you really don't plan on doing anything but craft, and even then, you'll need a bit.

Post 9 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 12-Mar-2013 8:09:34

I have clubs and fists, I'm going to grind like a motherfucking grinder and get blades, guns, whips, flails. Then, I'll have a wide diversity of things to chose from, as far as weapons go.

Post 10 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 12-Mar-2013 8:14:01

Oh, the battlecry works like this. You type `battlecry. Press enter. Type your battlecries (up to ten).
When done, press enter. Press period. Press enter again. Press the grave accent key (to the left of the one key.
Here is a sample4
@battlecry
Type cries
Come prick, fight!
Bitch, I've got the penis for you!
I'm done, on this line I will type a period (this is not a cry, a part of the step.)
Now I have a period, on this line I will type the grave accend, thus closing the editor.
And if I don't like a particular cry, @battlecry delete followed by the cry number will crush it out of existance.

Post 11 by The Sensible Millennial (I'll stop correcting you when you stop being wrong.) on Wednesday, 13-Mar-2013 16:29:33

I fail to see what the sense stat has to do with clubs, clubs works off the stats reflexes and brawn. Reflexes, you will want to gym anyway, that's true. It's great for so many different things.
I would advise against focusing on that many different weapon types, honestly. Hell Moo is not a game about balance, it's about picking an area you're good with, and becoming great at it. If you aren't great at one thing and spread yourself out, then you become medeocre at many things instead.
Whips, for example, go well with brainy builds. Medics and crafters and the like. That's actually my personal favorite class. Clubs and fists focus heavily on the more brutish stats. Reflexes, brawn and endurance. So placing lots of improvement there will preclude giving yourself brains or senses.
The same goes for guns and blades. Cool and reflexes are the prime stat there, with a side focus on brawn. Brawn equals speed with guns, oddly enough.
lol Yes, I play quite a bit. I welcome PM's or in game pages in regards to help with stats, jobs, the game in general. I am pretty knowledgeable about hell. Go figure.

Post 12 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 14-Mar-2013 7:45:31

If you want to chat, or make a party, my user on Hellmoo is, well, bassplayer. How original, eh?

Post 13 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Sunday, 17-Mar-2013 2:10:46

I tried hell and just couldn't get into it. it's actually not because I didn't like the game, but simply cuz everything seemed confusing unless you had help or had something like whips to start. I wanted to start with guns, and I never knew where to find a starting gun if I ever lost my gun that was given to me by whoever helped me from dying.

Post 14 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Sunday, 17-Mar-2013 21:01:38

that's the main problem I found too, but I joined enema when it was popular back in the old days so I just asked my corpmates, or went to the weapon shop if I was desperate
guns are I think the hardest things to find, aside from a few dropped or random ones you have to craft or buy them as far as I know, and they cost shit loads if you're just starting out
on another note, just started getting back in to this game and was wondering, where is the abandoned complex? that map in game is completely useless
also does anyone know how to get to tortuga island for the slave driver job?
thanks

Post 15 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 7:52:33

Can you get back to Enema once your out?

Post 16 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 8:50:50

I don't think so, not unless a player hires you

Post 17 by Jack Off Jill (why the hell am I posting in the first place?) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 11:15:51

I made a new char, I looked at the forms on the website, so pulled out skills and reflexes for one I chose, went after blades. I actually get the game now, and haven't died like crazy when I was. Even started picking up jobs from the unemployment place, I get into this game for a few days. But then forget about it hahaha.

Post 18 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 15:53:23

nice, if you want any help with finding a better blade or training you can talk to me, look for fariem when he's on

Post 19 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 16:10:09

You're not getting to tortuga island unless you have a boat and can drive it. Seeing as boats are not access friendly, that's not an option.
I do not know if you can fly to all the islands now on the original hellmoo at hellmoo.org, but i'm thinking not. on the other hell, its a little easier to get to some of them, but not much...
I'm trying to remember which islands are connected to the sky on old hell. Because then you can mut flight, and go there.
hmm, you can get to the island with the monastery,, coventry (though you don't want to go there unless you have 35 plus of your weapon and dodge, and some killer good equipment.
Devils towers, though that's way the hell away from like everything... Way up in the nw of the map,I believe.,
Other places like shipwreck cove, arcadia, san salvidor, macero and 1 or 2 more, you need boats for.

rather than using map, use text map and it will help you by telling you where things are in text directions, though it doesn't show players in your corp, like lmap does.
as a blind player, if you have the senses, i'd grind up some track, so no one can sneak up on you, if you're careful.

Post 20 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Monday, 18-Mar-2013 16:14:53

hmm, my same advice about coventry holds to for the island with the dinos on it. the small to mid sized ones shouldn't be to much of an issue for you with 28 or so weapon and dodge, unless they've gotten a buff, but the big ones will take you out at that level unless you're smart about it.
Also, don't fight a large or mid sized dino near the 800 foot drop. Unless you've got flight that is a sure death.

Post 21 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Tuesday, 19-Mar-2013 2:34:05

there's a text map? I didn't even know there was one
is that land only? or boats too
also does anyone know if there is any way to track that pirate ship? as there are some pretty good bounties usually on that ship

Post 22 by Gong jhoo (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 19-Mar-2013 5:33:02

Well I never really got in to it with a Pirate, but one of my friends needed help getting there stuff back, so we wint on his boat, and made it to the tint where the pirate had killed him, so I wint in first, and that fucker all most killed me, thank god for endos, so never tried them, lol, but it was good he got his stuff back.

Post 23 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Tuesday, 19-Mar-2013 17:17:28

ok, unless the pirate ship is broken, it moves between coventry, stormfront, the shore line and one or two other places... you can blink to it though.

Post 24 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Tuesday, 19-Mar-2013 17:18:07

same thing almost happened to me in necropolis a couple days ago, damn aboms, scared the shit outa me

Post 25 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 20-Mar-2013 8:02:38

They seriously need to make a soundpack for this mud, especially with the sex and shit.

Post 26 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Wednesday, 20-Mar-2013 16:57:46

@stormwing, thanks for that, though where is coventry? never been there
also where in shoreline? or is it random
thanks again for helping

Post 27 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Wednesday, 20-Mar-2013 22:27:43

no, please, not a sound pack... then it would draw all the worst kinds of gamers... blind people already have enough of a hard time on hell, because of what some have done in the past.
If any one, blind or not makes a sound pack for it, i'll grief them off the game.., if they distribute it publicly.
coventry is hmm, like n of macero I think. I haven't played in a little while, though I hope to start again soon.

Post 28 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 21-Mar-2013 14:05:47

lol about the sound pack why are you so against it? unless i'm missing something
I ean sure there are some things you just shouldn't have sounds for but other than that I can't see any problems with it
on another note, running out of ideas on what to do with myself in game, no good paying jobs that I can actually do without getting my ass kicked by something

Post 29 by Jack Off Jill (why the hell am I posting in the first place?) on Thursday, 21-Mar-2013 15:06:06

Hahaha I like soundpacks for the fackt of not having to worry to read my output fast after I type in my command.

Post 30 by moumoku-ninja97 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 21-Mar-2013 22:28:18

so something really weird happened just now, I was doing icehammer when my eyes started bleeding, I asked on chatnet and someone said something about zalgo and to read a bible....
anyone know what the hell happened to me? lol

Post 31 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 26-Mar-2013 16:15:36

Guys:
I have begun making a soundpack for MushClient. Please contact me for more details, preferably via Skype so I can send the files over to you. I'll need beta testers. Or you can send me private mail.

Post 32 by the icon (Zone BBS Addict) on Wednesday, 27-Mar-2013 17:28:30

well, i've been on and off for a while now, guess I'm just not sure which direction to take my character in.
I think i'm going to give it another go though, so hopefully see some of you guys there.

Post 33 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 27-Mar-2013 18:15:44

Come beta my pack, development starts hardcore tomorrow!

Post 34 by Gong jhoo (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 30-Mar-2013 16:29:13

Yes, someone let that guy out, zalgo, and it cause you to lose two hp, and damage fase armor, so I try to keep a bible with me most of the time, and it was like a pleg at first, that was crazy, lol.

Post 35 by the icon (Zone BBS Addict) on Sunday, 31-Mar-2013 16:42:44

well,
i've decided to try out a craft/science build but not exactly sure on how to get started.
i've gone with craft/science/medic/whips, just looking for any suggestions to help make the most of this build?

Post 36 by Coldshadow (supreme commander of the shadow fleet) on Tuesday, 02-Apr-2013 20:05:41

you can find me on the oldmoo as Keavon, cause I pop on there from time to time, but I mostly play after the end, as Thor.

Post 37 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 02-Apr-2013 21:51:07

Oldmoo? What do the different ports do, and do they need separate accounts?

Post 38 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Wednesday, 03-Apr-2013 3:02:24

well, your 3 main stats are going to be reflexes, brains and senses.
Next question is how you want to go about getting it done... what level are you at now, what have you ground etc?

Post 39 by Coldshadow (supreme commander of the shadow fleet) on Thursday, 04-Apr-2013 21:37:03

yeah, you need a different account for each one.

Post 40 by Winterfresh (This is who I am, an what I am about. If you don't like it, too damn bad!!!) on Monday, 20-May-2013 7:47:10

Haven't played hell in a minute. Need to get back on it, that game cracks my shit up. Grinding blades is the biggest pain in the ass though, wish I had a decent mac mud client, or better knew how to work my own. What do you use, Ambiguous Texan?

Post 41 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 20-May-2013 9:37:42

I use Mushclient for Windows, TinTin for Linux, and iMud for my iOS devices.

Post 42 by Shell Script (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 20-May-2013 9:38:30

Post 43 by Jack Off Jill (why the hell am I posting in the first place?) on Monday, 20-May-2013 12:55:59

I have been grinding better with blades, by my katonna. Repairing I find is good for several places. What annoys me is my quick draw. I find if I wield and unwield my katonnka I get better with quick draw. But I wish there was another way I knew of.

Post 44 by Winterfresh (This is who I am, an what I am about. If you don't like it, too damn bad!!!) on Monday, 20-May-2013 15:59:33

Ooooooh katana. Love that thing!!!

Post 45 by Jack Off Jill (why the hell am I posting in the first place?) on Monday, 20-May-2013 17:47:07

jes jes, katonna pretty
but I use vip mud. I like seeing what I am doing, and I guess since I am used to the layout. I am quite fast with the game that way.
